Il tente de proposer une alternative possible aux offres actuelles que sont la presse écrite et télévisuelle, ainsi que les sources disponibles via le net. Il prend également en considération le développement de nouvelles technologies qui facilitent la consultation d’informations à tous moments, n’importe où. Ces nouvelles voies technologiques, que sont notamment l’ipad® et l’iphone®, incitent à repenser les modèles actuels de design pour aller dans le sens de l’instantané. Neography s’appuie aussi sur l’intérêt croissant porté à la visualisation de données, qui rend plus direct et plus évident l’accès à une information. Il se base sur les supports existants tout en en proposant une utilisation différente qui prend son inspiration des écritures pictographiques antiques, en Égypte ou chez les mayas. L’aspect synthétique, mais néanmoins d’une grande force, que peut acquérir un pictogramme est appliqué dans le langage neographique au domaine de la presse quotidienne. Il s’agit de permettre au lecteur d’avoir accès aux dernières actualités de manière rapide et succincte à travers un système de signes et d’images, et de l’inciter à approfondir ces informations dans un second temps. Créer une nouvelle forme de diffusion de l’information qui soit universellement accessible et utilisable, permettant la compréhension et la création du contenu. Concevoir un nouveau moyen d’envisager la transmission de l’information en prenant en compte ses nouvelles exigences : rapidité, clarté, passivité. La mise en page est conçue pour permettre la cohabitation des signes de l’alphabet pictographique, avec des montages photographiques, sortes de rébus visuels. d'écriture sonore et tactile. Sachant que la modulation des sons à des fins expressives est a matrice ayant donné naissance au langage verbale. Basé sur une typographie sonore, appelé sonotype, où chaque son correspond à une forme et où chaque forme correspond à un son. c'est simplement l'empreinte sonore de la lettre. EXPERIMENTAL SONOGRAPHY intègre les notions de voir de toucher et d'entendre. Dans l'espace, la perception que l'on à de soi s'oriente par l'ouïe et le toucher. Même si l'on en a pas conscience, nous devenons ce que nous sommes individuellement, par des mécanismes d'ordres sonore, visuel, cinétique ou intellectuel. Nos attitudes physique, nos goût, notre sensibilité esthétique, nos gestes ou nos comportements sont intimement liées à notre façon d'entendre et d'interpréter les sons. les sons jouent un rôle important dans la création d'événement affectifs, ils peuvent autant révéler que fermer les possibilités qui s'offrent à nous. Le but étant de pousser le projet en intégrant une notion de toucher grâce à un prototype de détection de mouvements réalisé avec la collaboration de l'agence DUKE. Le livre devient un objet vivant, lorsque l'on touche les lettres sur le papier, le son se déclenche au même moment... Des sons associés à des lettres constitue une nouvelle expression du langage... Nous sommes tous concernés par la communication, elle concerne aussi bien l'être humain que l'animal, la plante au la machine. Mais existe t'il une forme de communication lisible par tous ? EXPERIMENTAL SONOGRAPHY consiste à agencer temporellement des formes qui représente des lettres et partir de leur constitutions pour les mettre en sons. Son champs d'exploitation peut être vraiment divers, cela peut tout aussi bien servir à mettre une émotion sur des mots, ou permettre à deux personnes étrangère de communiquer, ou même de permettre à des personnes handicapés de pouvoir s'exprimer, ou simplement échanger un message de manière ludique et interactive. Pour le création de sonotype est basé sur la grille du logiciel garage band. Les caractères typographiques conçus à partir de cette grille sont la représentation sonore d'une forme en fonction du temps. Chaque lettre à ainsi sa propre personnalité et sa propre matière sonore. La grille de base permet de retranscrire chaque pixel de la lettre en son lui correspondant. Le temps est portée en abscisse et la fréquence en ordonné. Chaque caractère est construit et structuré à partir cette grille. On peut d'ailleurs remarquer qu'on retrouve chaque caractéristique ou dynamique du caractère dans le son qu'il émet. Ils sont donc étroitement liées. EXPERIMENTAL SONOGRAPHY est une empreinte formelle du son, une réinventions des techniques d'écritures instrumental et graphique. My interest for illustration has been growing ever since the last year of my studies. Illustration appears to me to be the best way to communicate with people in a fun and compact way. Having the opportunity to work with Michel Bouvet was like a revelation. It enabled me to free myself from a very academic drawing curriculum to explore deeply other horizons. 2) What year did you graduate and from where? I graduated in June 2010 from ESAG Penninghen, a French school of graphic design. 3) What was your final project like? My final project is a study of the concept of BEAUTY, based on photos and interviews of different people illustrating the diversity and richness of the French population (a farmer, a photographer, a butcher, an artist, a homeless, a nun…). I wanted to investigate the universal sense of beauty among French people today and see how it would materialize differently according to environment, tastes, social classes.. My question was: is there such a thing as a French sense of Esthetics today ? All interviewees answered the same questionnaire on beauty. According to their answers, I realized for each of them a Totem illustration to synthesize their vision of beauty. I found inspiration in Maya, Aztec and and The whole work is presented in a book called: “ Le Beau, Mon, ton, son, leur ”, meaning “ Beauty, mine, yours, his/hers, theirs ”. My thesis supervisor was Muriel Paris. 4) What inspires you/ where do you draw inspiration from? In general, I draw my inspiration from artwork. I inspire myself through exhibitions, photos, paintings and other graphic designer’s work. However, the major source of inspiration for my thesis was Maya, Aztec and Inca Iconography as it gave me the inspiration I needed to design the Totems. 5) What are you working on now? I am currently illustrating a book, and working on the logo and visual identity of the Consuelo de Saint Exupery Foundation. I am also creating the visual identity of two brands, a tie brand and a brand marketing medical hearing aid devices. 6) How would you describe your style? My style is fun, quite naive and colorful. But always very neat and concise. 7) Who do you consider your greatest influence? I guess my greatest influence is Henning Wagenbreth for his tremendous imagination, his style, his characters and colors. He succeeded in creating a fantastic universe, fun, scary and coherent at the same time. 8) What do you consider to be the most important quality any aspiring illustrator needs to have? Humour! Projet de fin d'étude ESAG Penninghen, Diplôme Juin 2010, MENTION TRÉS BIEN Reportage: L’objectif de ce projet est de tenter de clarifier cette notion, qui poursuit le genre humain depuis toujours : qu’est ce que le beau ? Que reste t-il aujourd’hui de cette notion ? Qu’en avons nous fait ? Il a d’abord fallu commencer par un travail de recherche historique et philosophique sur ce sujet. Très rapidement ces recherches se sont attardées sur ce qu’on a appelé La Querelle des Anciens et des Modernes, qui opposait deux visions de la beauté. Une rationnelle, l’autre essentiellement sensible. Pour dire qu'une oeuvre est belle, doit-elle répondre à des critères ou seulement nous plaire parce qu’elle touche certains points de notre sensibilité ?
